Sequin Tuesday

2012.01.25

I had to do it again.  I have been having a week full of sparkle and I needed to show off with some awesome sequins.  I happened to have worn this Sejour jacket just Saturday night and I ROCKED IT! with a cute Dana Buchman by Kohl’s brown sequin tank and skinnie jeans and my knee boots from Duo.

I thought pairing it with a cute gap tunic dress, leggings and my Duo riding boots in Camel really would make this outfit pop and let me tell you, it did.  I think that it is totally fine to dress up during the day and add a bit of sparkle.  Why should all the ‘evening’ clothes be reserved for parties?

What do you think?  Does it work?

Happy Holidays!

2010.10.14

Oh I am drooling!!  I cannot stop!  Monif C. just launched her Holiday 2010 collection and I am passionately in love with *everything*.  There’s leather.  There’s lace and of course, my favorite, SEQUINS!  I am really going to cry because I do not have any Holiday Parties to go this year that would cause me to snag the Serena Sequin Kimono Dress.  I really would wear that with hot pink patent leather pumps because I am that daring and some massive earrings.  A dress of that caliber doesn’t allow you to be a wall flower and to me, the less wall flower the better!  I am so not afraid to be fabulous!

Can we say “WOW” to the Victoria Puff Sleeve Dress?  Oh My Goodness!  It is a stunner and the red and black combo is so sexy.  Monif knows how to create clothes that hug a woman’s curves and this dress is absolutely no exception!  I would pair this with black booties and some really heavy metal jewelry.  Again, not the wallflower, so I would probably pull a Rachel Zoe instead of a Coco Chanel and add more accessories rather than subtract, but, hey, all in the name of fashion, no?

For my last favorite, well, they are all favorites, but we need to discuss the Alexandra Draped Goddess Dress.  This beauty comes in two colors, black and gold and I can’t tell which I love more.  Personally, I would grab the black, because it may be one of the most perfect Little Black Dresses that I have seen and I can picture this helping me out at weddings and other affairs I may have because it is so simple and rich at the same time.

Someone please give me an American Express Black Card and pay the bill for me?

*sigh*

Let’s Play Dress Up…

2009.12.20

Dior DressAnyone who knows me knows I love to dress up.  When I have an occasion, I plan my outfit for weeks.  Recently I had an engagement party to go to, and I made sure I had several choices depending on the mood I was in that day.  I wound up in a green body hugging sheath with a huge statement necklace and some lovely d’orsay pumps.  The ensemble was complete with a vintage wool boucle swing coat with silver fox neck and cuffs.  Decadent is definitely the word I would use.

So, therein lies the reason for this post. New Year’s Eve is right around the corner…

For a cocktail dress I am of two decades, 40′s and 50′s.  That is my thing.  I was definitely born in the wrong time, because my ‘dress up’ style tends to lean toward those years.  Here are a few of my favorites!

Nordstrom brings a Muse amethyst brocade dress in a 50′s silhouette that makes me smile…

La Grande Dame and Marina Rinaldi wows me with this amazing skirt and tank combo.  It, of course, is the lust worthy outfit that we need to save our pennies for!  I am not sure if I would rock the entire outfit in one shot, but I give credit to all the lovely ladies who will!

Bloomies and Tadashi take one of my favorite things, lace, and turns it into a beautiful sexy sheath dress.  What a great little black dress to wear all year long! Another awesome option at Bloomies is an Eliza J sexy red number that screams siren!

On our trip over to Saks, we see a David Meister number that wows us!  Navy is an awesome color that can be worn all year long!  What a great price this dress is.  I love Saks sales!

I nabbed this number at Lola’s Boutique.  Donna Ricco is a wonderful designer.  I have another dress by Donna Ricco and would so recommend her to others!

Jibri is a designer that is featured on some awesome plus size blogs!  I have fallen madly in love with this dress.  It’s the Bliss Spring Dress.  I also love the Iggy with Cuff sleeves in Satin!  Super obsessed with this Metallic Swing Coat.

So go dress up and get sexy and send us your pics!  I want to see you!
